Submission Guidelines
1. Publication language
- The manuscripts must be written in Vietnamese or English in a clear, easy-to-understand manner.
- The abstracts and keywords of the Vietnamese manuscripts written in English is compulsory.
2. Types of publication
Manuscripts submitted to Journal of Interdisciplinary Sciences and Arts should neither be published previously (original research) nor be under consideration for publication in another journal. The main article types are as follows:
- Original articles: The journal considers all original manuscripts provided that the work reports a substantial amount of new information (original research) or proposes significantly scientific and/or practical methods, ideas, and solutions. Authors should not unnecessarily divide their work into several related manuscripts. The quality and impact of the study will be considered during peer review.
- Book review articles: The author introduces a summary of the book's content and provides an assessment of the novelty and academic values of the work presented.
- Literature review articles: The journal accepts overviews of significant research trends related to the fields of cultural and creative industries, creative economics, heritage, architecture, urbanism and planning, traditional and contemporary art forms, and related interdisciplinary studies.
3. Preparation of manuscript
3.1 Structure
The article must be concise and focus on the research results, the author's novel contributions and follow the structure of a scientific article, including the following basic sections: Introduction, Methodology, Results and Discussion, Conclusion, References and Appendix (if any).
a) Introduction: State the objectives of the work and provide an adequate background, avoiding a detailed literature survey or a summary of the results.
b) Methodology: This should identify the research method used in the article.
c) Results and Discussion: The research results should be presented clearly and accurately. This should, explore the significance of the results of the work, not repeat them.
d) Conclusions: The main conclusions of the study may be presented in a short conclusions section.
e) References and Appendix (if any)
- References: Please ensure that every reference cited in the text is also present in the reference list (and vice versa). Any references cited in the abstract must be given in full.
- Appendices: If there is more than one appendix, they should be identified as Appendices A, B, etc.
3.2 Presentation:
3.2.1 Format:
a) The article must be typed in the file .doc/ .docx, A4 paper size, font Times New Roman, size 13, line spacing 1.2cm.
b) The text has a minimum of 5,000 words (for original articles) and 1,500 words (for book review articles) without abstract, reference, appendices and author’s information. The abstract should be written (in English and Vietnamese) does not exceed 300 words. All manuscripts should contain at least 7 keywords. Footnotes (if any) in the article should be presented at the bottom of each page and are numbered in ascending order, starting from number 1.
c) Towards special characters: these should be used Microsoft Word’s processor. Notes: The image should be clear and resize in PNG, JPG, WMF format. The image name is placed below. The table name is placed above. Both the image and the table must be numbered from 1 to the end.
3.2.2 Principles of Vietnamizing foreign languages:
In the article, it should be proper the original names of people, places, and terms, except for names that have been Vietnamized and popularized in administrative documents
3.2.3 Citation in texts:
a) Direct citation: The cited text should be placed in double quotation marks with original source in parentheses.
b) Original source should be written as: Name of author(s) (Vietnamese/ English) [space] year of publication: number of pages. If the same content is cited from many different sources, please note each original sources in the same parentheses and separated by one comma. For example: (Nguyen Van Chinh 2001); (Nguyen Van Chinh 2001: 68), (Dobbin et al. 2009: 30).
3.2.4 References:
a) The Journal applies the referencing style of APA. For more details, please see http://www.apastyle.org/. Besides English sources, any foreign languages should be translated into English.
b) The reference list should be arranged alphabetically, then chronologically if necessary. Multiple references from the same author(s) in the same year should be identified by the letters ‘a’, ‘b’, ‘c’… after the year of publication.
c) Reference lists:
- Reference to a book: Name of author (Year of publication). Book title. Publisher.
Eg: Taylor, M. (2014). The political ecology of climate change adaptation: Livelihoods, agrarian change and the conflicts of development. Taylor and Francis Inc.
- Reference to a book chapter: Name of author (Year of publication). Chapter title. Editor in chief’s name, Book Title, (pp). Publisher.
Eg: Molina, J. G. J., & Neef, A. - Reference to a journal publication with an article number: Name of author (Year of publication). Article title. Journal title, Volume (Issue), pp.

Notes: Use of the DOI is highly encouraged.
4. Author information
Requirement information must be provided: full name of authors and co-authors, scientifice titles and work units. For corresponding author, it should be provided phone numbers and email for further contact.
5. Acknowledgement
- Collate acknowledgments in a separate section at the end of the article before the references. List here those individuals who provided help during the research.
– Honest acknowledgement information must be provided. Authors are responsible for the acknowledgement information sent to the Journal.
